FAQs
The Voqa One EV Charger takes payments, allowing commercial owners to set the tariff and profit from every charge.
With contactless payments integrated as standard, your customers just pull up, plug in, tap and charge.
Not only that, its dual cables allow two vehicles to charge at the same time. Meaning one installation cost for the price of two installs and two charging units.

Actual customer questions
Here are some questions from a recent customer enquiry. They are all answered individually throughout these FAQs but we thought it might be reassuring to see a real customer conversation featured here.
Please can you explain again how we charge guests?
You decide the price you want to set for drivers who charge at the Voqa One station. This price (inclusive of 20% VAT) displays on the screen as £ per kWh.
The driver presents a valid credit or debit card (or Apple Pay etc.) to the unit, and this starts the charge
Voqa manages the transaction and collects the driver fee for the charging session
At the end of every month, we return the collected driver fees to your nominated bank account, less our commission of £0.06 per kWh
Your cost base is therefore your unit price of electricity plus our commission fee. Any price you set above this provides your margin contribution.
On pricing: we see businesses levying 50p + VAT (60p to the driver) per kWh, used regularly, typically at least once a day. We're also working with a hotel levying 52p + VAT (63p per kWh to the driver), where the charger is used every night by guests.
Do different cars have different cables? If so, does this charger come with different options?
The AC charging connector has been standardised across Europe and the UK since 2013. Every EV sold after 2018 had to conform to the new standard. In practical terms, you're unlikely ever to encounter a car that can't connect to the Voqa charger. If you did, it would most likely be a Nissan Leaf at least 8 years old. Our charger can't support this vehicle.
How do we control who charges, and how and when? Do we authorise use of the charger before anyone can access it?
Its customer controlled - like pressing the button for the lift.
We've deliberately taken the approach that a driver never needs to come to reception to ask how to access the charger. Put another way, your reception team wouldn't have to deal with that query. Anyone with a valid payment card can start a charge. If a parking bay is available, the customer can start a charge by tapping their card. Thats it.
What hazards and risk assessments do we need to have this installed?
Your chosen electrician would carry out this assessment. What you should know is that the Voqa One unit is certified for public use, so it is intrinsically safe. Your electrician is responsible for ensuring the electrical work is carried out to the relevant standards.
Do our insurance providers need to be consulted or informed?
Worth asking them the question, as every insurer seems to have their own rules around EV charging. Best to check this before investing time and money in a charging solution.
